Job Title: Science Teacher

Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)

About the Role
Our client, a successful and ambitious secondary school in West Yorkshire, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students and contribute to a thriving science department.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 if applicable.
- Create an engaging and supportive learning environment that enables all students to reach their full potential.
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and implementing interventions where necessary.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and development, ensuring lessons are aligned with national standards and school objectives.
- Maintain high expectations of student behaviour and foster a positive and respectful classroom culture.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and stay updated with developments in science education.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support student learning and progress.
- Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and wider school initiatives as required.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in Science or a related subject.
- Experience teaching Science at secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
- Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- A commitment to raising student attainment and supporting progress.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable:
- Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 5.
- Familiarity with current GCSE and A-Level specifications.
- Experience in leading or contributing to extracurricular activities such as science clubs, STEM projects, or competitions.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs.
