One of Teaching Personnel’s client school’s south of Stockport are currently recruiting for a teacher of science on a full-time temporary basis (January 2024 - July 2024). The school was graded ‘Good’ on its last Ofsted report and boasts a strong SLT department that helps to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere at the school. The role would involve planning and delivering challenging schemes of science work to both KS3 and KS4 whilst also ensuring that differentiation between student needs and abilities is accounted for. Getting involved in the whole school life such as attending parents’ evenings, school trips and sports days will also form an integral part of the job. Making sure you follow the school protocol for behaviour management and safeguarding processes will also be vital.

The school is approximately twenty minutes by car from Stockport and is also accessible via bus, however having access to a vehicle would be desirable. The school day is from 8:30am – 3:00pm and would require the candidate to work these times from Monday to Friday. Additional hours may be needed on top of this for sufficient planning and marking of work.

  • Pay based on main pay scale ranging from: MPS1 - UPS3 per annum depending on experience.
  • Full Time Temporary contract starting as soon as possible until the end of the school academic year.

Some essential requirements for the role are listed below:

  • QTS in one of following: Physics, Biology or Chemistry (role will involve covering all three)
  • Strong Literacy and Numeracy skills
  • Live within commuting distance
  • Confident manner with strong behaviour management skills

This role would be suitable to experienced teachers, however NQT/ECT’s are encouraged to apply. This would be an excellent role for anyone in the Stockport area who is looking to expand their subject knowledge and gain valuable experience. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
