Job description

Location: Hastings, East Sussex

Are you passionate about science and committed to inspiring the next generation of young minds? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join our team located in the vibrant coastal town of Hastings, East Sussex.

Responsibilities: As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and innovative lessons to students across different year groups (Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4). The role involves:

  • Creating and implementing effective lesson plans in line with the national curriculum.
  • Encouraging student participation and fostering a passion for science through practical experiments and hands-on activities.
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and setting appropriate learning targets.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to contribute to the school's science department and academic program.
  • Participating in extracurricular activities and school events to enrich the students' learning experience.

Requirements: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification in Science.
  • Strong subject knowledge across the sciences (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics).
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and inspire students of varying abilities and learning styles.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment that promotes equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • A willingness to actively participate in the wider school community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
