Job description

Science Teacher – High Peak – September Start

We are currently recruiting for a qualified Science Teacher to join a high-achieving and well-respected secondary school in the High Peak from September 2025. This is a full-time post with a long-term contract, and the opportunity to progress into a permanent role for the right candidate.

The school is known for its excellent student behaviour, academic results, and supportive staff community. You will be joining a science department with modern laboratories, strong leadership, and shared resources.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Science across Key Stage 3 and their specialist subject at Key Stage 4. There may also be opportunities to teach Triple Science or support with GCSE revision classes, depending on experience and preference.

Duties will include:

  • Delivering high-quality and engaging lessons that meet national standards

  • Differentiating materials to meet the needs of all learners

  • Marking, assessing, and providing feedback in line with department policy

  • Contributing to department planning and enrichment activities

  • Maintaining a positive, structured classroom environment

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Degree in a Science subject (Biology, Chemistry or Physics)

  • Previous experience teaching in a UK secondary school

  • Excellent subject knowledge and ability to engage pupils

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
