Seeking an experienced Science Teacher for an after Easter break start!

Are you a passionate and knowledgeable educator with a flair for bringing science to life in the classroom? We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join the thriving department of an excellent secondary school in Basildon. This full-time position will commence after Easter, offering an exciting opportunity to inspire and educate our students in the fascinating world of science.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and interactive science lessons to students across various age and ability levels, covering a range of scientific disciplines (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics).
  • Utilise hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and multimedia resources to facilitate active learning and inquiry-based exploration.
  • Foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry among students.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the science curriculum, integrating real-world applications and current scientific advancements.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance, adhering to school policies and procedures.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with students, parents, and guardians through open communication and involvement in school events and activities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience teaching science at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of the national curriculum and relevant subject knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage students and facilitate hands-on learning experiences in the science classroom.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in a team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for fostering a love of science in students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
