Teaching Personnel are working with a Wigan based secondary school that are seeking to appoint a Science Graduate for a Graduate Teaching Assistant role starting in September 2020.

Your responsibilities as a Graduate Teaching Assistant will include tracking progress, creating resources to aid learning and being a positive and engaging role model within the Science department.

This is an excellent opportunity if you are someone considering a career in teaching but would like some prior experience before committing to a teacher training course.

Our client secondary school located in the Wigan LEA are seeking to appoint a flexible, independent and resilient Science Graduate to join their team of Graduate Teaching Assistants in the new academic year.

The incoming staff member must be able to adapt to new roles and challenges and will be able to confidently work with groups of students aged 11-16 in a professional capacity. Due to the nature of the role, previous experience is not necessary but will be beneficial in the first instance.

Throughout the placement at our client secondary school you will receive complete support in the form of training and shadowing opportunities. This will offer you the chance to learn from experienced and supportive staff members within the schools Science faculty ahead of completing a teacher training course in the future.

This secondary school can be on the outskirts of Wigan and is easily accessible from surrounding areas such as Bolton, Chorley and Preston. The school is well respected within the local community and regularly achieves excellent results in Science.  the school also achieved an above average progress 8 score in comparison to other schools in the local area.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
