SCHOOL BUSINESS MANAGER - PRESTON

The Headteacher and Governing Body of a reputable Primary School in Preston are looking to appoint an experienced Business Manager to take on the full time role from September 2019 working within their busy school office. The working hours for this role would be 37 hours per week. In order to be considered for this role you must have the following skills and experience.

Essential:

  • An experienced School Business Manager or have held a similar, high level role within an educational environment.
  • Be responsible for all aspects of the school's business including: finance and budgeting, facilities, health & safety, HR and pupil admissions.
  • Work in partnership with senior leaders and report to, and advise, the Governing Body.
  • Have a diligent and precise approach to work.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of either SIMs or SAGE.
  • Be a friendly hardworking team player who promotes the whole school ethos and visions of the school.
  • Hold the Certificate in School Business Management (CSBM) - Desirable.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of four years relevant experience.

Due to the size of this school, the successful candidate will be expected to manage a team of administration alongside and Office Manager. This role has arisen due to the retirement of a long-standing member of staff.

Job Type: Full-time (37 hours per week)

Salary: Competitive

Start date: September 2019 with opportunity for transition with current staff.

This is a temp to perm post.

As the face of the school you must be presentable, approachable and above all, professional. You must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, be able to work well under pressure and enjoy all aspects of organisational and administrative work. The successful applicant must have experience using SIMS as well as Excel and Word. Duties will include some financial management, and experience in this field would be an advantage.
