Job Role: EYFS Teacher available for a September 2025 start
Pay Rate: £130 - £180 per day (dependent on experience)
Location: Whelley, Wigan (WN1)
Contract: Full-time, Temporary (with the opportunity for a permanent position)

A caring and community-focused primary school in the heart of Whelley, Wigan, is seeking a passionate and dedicated EYFS Teacher to join their team from September 2025. The school prides itself on fostering a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential through play-based learning, strong pastoral support, and inclusive values.

This full-time role is ideal for a qualified teacher who has a deep understanding of early childhood development and is committed to helping children develop the skills they need to thrive in school and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver creative, developmentally appropriate lessons in line with the EYFS Framework.
  • Foster a warm, supportive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and independence.
  • Support the social, emotional, and physical development of all pupils.
  • Monitor and assess children’s progress, keeping accurate records and adapting planning as needed.
  • Build strong relationships with parents/carers and work in partnership to support each child’s development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the wider life of the school.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience working in an EYFS setting, either through teaching roles or placements.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and early learning goals.
  • A nurturing, creative, and child-centred approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting children with additional needs.
  • Training in phonics delivery (e.g., Read Write Inc, Letters and Sounds).
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification.
