RE Teacher- Wigan- September 2018

- Full time RE teaching position required from September 2018

- RE to Key Stages 3 & 4

- Potential of a fixed-term/permanent contract after the initial supply period

- Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant on experience (ÂŁ22,917- ÂŁ38,633)

Due to an upcoming gap with the Religious Education department, the Head teacher of this over subscribed school wishes to appoint an RE Teacher from September 2018. This position is for a minimum of two terms in the first instance. Further, dependant upon effectiveness over the initial supply period, a fixed term/permanent contract could be offered thereafter.

This position is to teach Religious Education to Key Stages 3, 4 & to GCSE level. At Key Stage 3, the school follow the SACRE syllabus. At Key Stage 4, the lessons are designed to prepare the pupils for the wider world e.g. Life Skills, Religion & Sport, Drug Awareness, Medical Ethics & Relationships. For those students who opt to study GCSE RE, the focus is on learning the values of Christianity and Buddhism.

It's most recent 'Ofsted' report, the school were commended for the pupil's positive attitudes to learning. The school is average in size with around 900 pupils on roll and has celebrated dramatic improvements in their results in recent years.

The school is located close to the town centre which offers excellent accessibility to the surrounding areas. It is a short drive away from Bolton and the M6 which means that Ashton-in-Makerfield and St Helens are only a short drive away. There are also regular public transport links (both buses & trains) direct from the town centre.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
