A secondary school in the heart of Trafford is looking to take on a RE teacher for a maternity cover starting at the beginning of the new academic year. As a result of the covid-19 outbreak, the existing RE teacher has decided to take their maternity leave slightly early resulting in them not returning in September. The school are therefore looking for an RE teacher on a full time basis from Monday 7th September until the May half term of 2021 at least.

The successfully appointed RE teacher will be expected to teach up to GCSE level for the duration of the cover with applications being accepted from teachers of all experience levels. The school follows the AQA syllabus. Students that attend this secondary school in Trafford are engaged with their learning and as a result have a thirst for knowledge. The school are therefore looking for an RE teacher that can teach innovative and engaging lessons across the curriculum.

Key aspects of this RE teaching position:

  • Full time, maternity cover from Monday 7th September until at least May 2021
  • Follow the AQA syllabus at KS3 and KS4
  • Pay will be dependent upon the appointed teacher’s payscale; GBP2200 - GBP3000 per month
  • Teach at this highly supportive secondary school
  • Situated in the heart of the Trafford LEA close to the M60 ring road

The school is known for being supportive of all teachers with the leadership team being praised for their forward-thinking style and supportive nature. The Head of Humanities oversees the department and is particularly supportive of all teachers in the faculty.

As applications are being accepted from teachers of any experience level with the opportunity to be supported through any induction required for a NQT (2 terms at least). If you are an NQT who has just finished your teaching placements then please still apply advising on your teaching experience for consideration. Any more experienced teachers are still encouraged to apply as there is no preference over the experience level of the appointed teacher.

This secondary school is situated in the Trafford education authority close to the M60 ring road. Any RE teachers that drive will find this school very easily accessible with the school also having plentiful parking on site in a secure car park. The school is also situated close to a major road through Altrincham/Stretford which is serviced regularly by local buses for those travelling via public transport.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
