Job description

Are you a qualified Religious Education (RE) teacher seeking an exciting opportunity in the new academic year? Do you wish to secure a permanent position in future within an Ofsted graded ‘Outstanding’ secondary school?

If so, a full time RE teacher is required to take on full planning, preparing and marking responsibilities across Key Stages 3 & 4.

  • RE required from September 2020 or earlier.
  • Applications are welcome from both experienced and newly qualified teachers.
  • Close to public transport links and the M602/A580 (East Lancashire Road).
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS GBP24, 373 - GBP40, 490.

The secondary school has just over 700 pupils on roll aged 11-16, and is located just of the M602. Salford is also easily accessible from the surrounding areas; Bury, Bolton and Trafford. There are also numerous public transport options readily available with links throughout Greater Manchester.

Roles and responsibilities will include but may not be limited to;

  • Demonstrate outstanding subject knowledge with an ability to share this with pupils in an exciting way
  • Promote an excellent teaching practice in RE, evaluating the quality of teaching and standards of pupil’s achievement, and setting targets for improvement.
  • Be an excellent classroom teacher, establishing  and maintaining policies and practices to promote positive behaviour and achievement in RE within the framework of the school policies.
