About the Role

A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Hayes is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to lead and develop the school's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator with strong leadership skills to make a significant impact on student outcomes and inclusion.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff, support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure all students receive the tailored support they need to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the school's SEND provision in line with statutory requirements.
• Identify, assess, and monitor students with SEND, ensuring appropriate interventions are implemented.
• Coordinate and review Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Support teachers in adapting teaching strategies and resources to meet individual learning needs.
• Manage and develop a team of Learning Support Assistants and SEND staff.
• Liaise effectively with parents, carers, local authorities, and external professionals.
• Monitor student progress and use data to drive improvements in SEND outcomes.
• Promote an inclusive culture across the school, ensuring all students can access the curriculum.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to work towards it.
• Proven experience working with students with SEND.
• Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
