Pupil Referral Unit - Teacher

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a 'Good' independent school for children aged 8-16 with social, emotional, mental health and behavioural difficulties. This school is attached to a residential home and caters for less than 10 pupils. The school are currently looking for a teacher who is able to teach Science and Maths and some general cover to KS2-4. The class sizes are very small with varying abilities. The school teaches functional skills in maths and science and there is a potential for GCSE maths to be introduced in the future. The school have said that the focus is more so on the science side as the school are well equipped to allow for experimental and practical science lessons. This role is to start in January and the school are looking to act fast to get the right teacher for the role.

The pupils at this school do have very challenging behaviour and so any teacher who apply need to be able to manage verbal and physical aggression. Having Team-Teach, MAPA, SCIPP or any other restraint training would be very advantageous for this role. The school is located in Halton, a short drive from the M56 for those teachers who are teachers. There are some bus stops located near to the school for those teachers who require public transport.
