Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant (SEN)

Location: Coventry
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (8:30am–3:30pm)
Pay: £90–£100 per day

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for psychology graduates looking to gain hands-on experience working with children with additional needs, particularly those considering careers in educational psychology, clinical psychology, or related fields.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties, and social/emotional needs

  • Work closely with class teachers and SEN staff to support learning and behaviour

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support

  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment

  • Assist with emotional regulation and engagement in learning activities

The Ideal Candidate

  • A Psychology graduate (or related degree)

  • Passionate about working with children with SEN

  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Previous experience with children or SEN is desirable but not essential

  • Must have an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one

 

This role is ideal for graduates looking to build experience before pursuing further training or qualifications in psychology, education, or mental health.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
