Psychology or Criminology Graduate – SEMH School (Chorley) – Temp to Perm
Are you a Psychology or Criminology graduate looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? Do you have a passion for supporting mental health and managing challenging behavior in a school setting?
We are seeking a dedicated graduate to join a secondary SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Chorley. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, starting in May, where you will play a key role in supporting students who require additional social, emotional, and behavioral support.
The Role:
- Working closely with students aged 11-16 with SEMH needs.
- Providing tailored support to help manage challenging behaviors.
- Implementing strategies to promote emotional resilience and positive mental health.
- Assisting teachers in creating a supportive learning environment.
- Building trusting relationships to encourage engagement and personal development.
Requirements:
- A degree in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field.
- Experience or a strong understanding of mental health and challenging behaviors in young people.
- Confidence, resilience, and the ability to build rapport with students.
- A genuine passion for working in education and making a difference.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and use de-escalation techniques when needed.
