SEMH Teaching Assistant
Job description
Location: Blackpool, Lancashire
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Pay Rate: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour
- Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis with SEMH needs.
- Assist in implementing individual education and behaviour plans.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Encourage emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and outside professionals.
- Track and report progress and behaviours effectively.
- Experience supporting children and/or young adults with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
- Passion for working with vulnerable or at-risk children.
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
