This role involves supporting pupils aged 5–16 who face challenges in mainstream education due to social, emotional, or mental health needs. Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH needs, both individually and in small groups.
- Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies and fostering emotional regulation.
- Collaborate with teachers and external professionals to support holistic student development.
- Promote positive interactions and social skills among pupils.
- Support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning and encourage independence.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
- Understanding of SEMH challenges and strategies to support affected pupils.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Relevant qualifications (such as an NVQ) desirable but not required.
