Psychology Graduate - North Manchester

Are you a recent graduate of psychology looking for an introductory role in secondary education?

Teaching Personnel are currently working closely with one of our partner schools in North Manchester who are seeking to appoint a Psychology Graduate to their staffing team responsible for supporting a number of identified students throughout the school. This exciting post is due to start in September 2019, and will be a fixed term contract until July 2020, with proven candidates having the opportunity to earn a permanent contract following the successful completion of the academic year.

  • Psychology Graduate required for a full time role from September 2019
  • Fixed term contract (September 2019 - July 2020)
  • Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group scenario basis
  • Earn up to ÂŁ1300 per month, paid weekly

Our partner school is a smaller than average secondary school in the Prestwich area of North Manchester, situated close to a Metrolink tram stop and a short drive from the M60 motorway. With excellent facilities throughout, students enrolled at this school are enthralled by a strong climate for learning where excellence is promoted consistently.

"Our school is a dynamic and exciting place to work and learn. We have a clear focus on ensuring that our students make good and sustained progress, regardless of their starting point. Our school is at the heart of the local community which is diverse, creative and vibrant. Our vision for the school is 'realising greatness'; we want every individual in our care to have the opportunity to realise their own greatness." Headteacher.

As a Psychology Graduate at our partner school, the successful graduate will take up the role as a Teaching Assistant undertaking a range of responsibilities throughout the school. Key tasks throughout the school day will include supporting students in the classroom across a range of subjects, as well as delivering 1:1 and small group intervention sessions. The incoming Psychology Graduate will be accountable for promoting good behaviour as well as tracking student progress whilst reporting it to the designated member of senior staff within the school. Psychology Graduates have a proven track record as Teaching Assistants as they can successfully support and work alongside students that may display challenging behaviour, have SEND needs (Special Educational Needs and Disability) and those that have SEMH complexities.

If you would like to apply for this post as a Psychology Graduate, please apply via the link below or send an updated CV to Chris Beckenham at Manchester North Secondary directly, alternatively call on the number provided for further information.
