Job Opportunity: Psychology Graduates – Make a Difference Supporting SEN Students

Are you a Psychology graduate passionate about education and eager to support children with special educational needs (SEN)?
Teaching Personnel is looking for dedicated and resilient individuals to work in SEN schools and alternative provisions throughout Liverpool and surrounding areas.

This role offers a meaningful opportunity to apply your Psychology knowledge in a practical setting—supporting students who have faced challenges in mainstream education. Many pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in place, and benefit from the guidance of individuals who can offer empathy, tailored support, and build strong, positive relationships.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Providing one-to-one and group support for students with SEN.

  • Building trusted relationships that help students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

  • Using de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour strategies to manage challenging behaviours.

  • Applying your Psychology background to better understand student needs and learning styles.

  • Working closely with teachers and support staff to promote an inclusive learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A degree in Psychology or a related field.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A calm, resilient, and compassionate nature.

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people and making a difference.

This is an ideal role for recent Psychology graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in the education sector. You’ll develop essential skills and play a key role in helping students achieve their full potential.
