A behaviour school and PRU in Croydon are looking for SEMH experienced Teaching Assistants for this and the coming academic year, to start immediately. The school supports pupils that are of a vulnerable and often challenging nature. You will work closely with your colleagues to produce tailored action plans for students across Key Stages 3 and 4, taking an active role in implementing a specialised and tailored programme that positively encourages learners to overcome educational and social barriers, improve their skills and ultimately gain recognised qualifications.
You will have strong interpersonal skills in order to communicate with families, carers and a multidisciplinary team of teaching staff, social workers and educational psychologists. You will be organised, patient and confident, with a comprehensive understanding of the key issues currently affecting young people.
If the following applies to you then please apply for the role:
- Experienced Youth or Community Support Worker.
- Working knowledge of meeting the emotional, social and mental health of young people.
- Desire to take a supporting role in alternative education setting.
Relevant training, such as Team Teach, First Aid, Health & Safety in Education, Mental Health & Wellbeing in Children and Young People, are all desirable but not essential. Teaching Personnel do encourage our teachers to complete training courses, therefore we do offer opportunities for courses either for free or at a highly subsidised rate. If this is something that interests you, please do not hesitate to contact us.
As a registered member of Teaching Personnel, you will be entitled to the following candidate benefits:
- Weekly Pay through PAYE
- Access to regular training and CPD courses in your local area
- Dedicated Personal Consultant
