Prison Officer / Security Guard Teaching Assistant - Newport

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a local Newport secondary school to appoint a teaching assistant. The role is working 1:1 and in small groups with children with challenging behaviour, which would be ideal for someone with experience as a prison officer or a security guard because the candidate will need to be calming and diffuse potentially irate situations.

No experience as a teaching assistant is necessary, the correct personality and attitude is key. The candidate will need to be positive, patient, understanding and calming to be able to build a rapport with the child to keep them focused and interested in their work.

The hours are flexible to suit the needs of the candidate, with full time or day to day work available. The school is close to the M4 with good public transport links. The role starts after the Easter half term with the potential to become a permanent position.

Pay is between £57 and £60 per day.
