The Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant – Level 1-2 to join our dynamic team. As a Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibility is to support the learning and general wellbeing of our primary school children, ensuring each child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment. Your duties may extend to supporting care needs and implementing positive behaviour management strategies tailored to individual children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish warm, caring, and supportive relationships with pupils to create a safe and enjoyable learning environment.
- Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities.
- Participate in planning and evaluating learning activities.
- Provide meaningful feedback on pupil attainment and progress.
- Assist in monitoring, assessing, recording, and reporting pupils' progress in line with school policies.
- Support positive behaviour and concentration levels, adapting responses to changes or escalations in behaviour.
- Contribute to the whole Day Curriculum, promoting pupils’ cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being.
Requirements:
- Experience working with primary school children in an employed or voluntary setting.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, as required.
- Recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent is desirable but not mandatory.
- GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above qualification is essential.
- Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
- A strong desire to prioritize the child's needs and treat each child as an individual.
- Positive and creative approach in assisting to meet pupils’ individual needs.
Duties may vary, requiring flexibility and a willingness to assist as needed in our Norwich primary school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
