Year 5 Teacher – West Lancashire – January 2020

Are you a qualified and experienced Key Stage 2 teacher who is looking to work within a reputable West Lancashire Primary School?

Do you have experience in upper KS2 working alongside children with challenging behaviour and special educational needs?

 

The School:

This is a reputable Primary School located in Skelmersdale, it is easily accessible from surrounding areas such as Chorley, Wigan, Ormskirk and Southport. The Headteacher is keen to secure a teacher with a strong background, preferable somebody who has experience working within an ‘inner city’ school due to the mixed catchment area.

The school have a well established senior leadership team and have very few staffing changes. Behaviour in school is good; this is reflective of the excellent behaviour management strategies consistently implemented across the school by all staff.

The Role:

This position is to cover maternity leave and the role will continue until July 2020. The successful candidate will also be expected to undertake the full teaching role; planning, delivering and assessing the children in line with the local framework and the National Curriculum. Candidates must hold a strong subject knowledge in all curriculum areas especially in Maths, Reading and Writing. The school have also mentioned that they may be looking for a member of staff who is a specialist in Mathematics; however this is not a necessity to apply or be successful in the role!

The pay and working hours:

The pay for this role will be determined by experience and level of teaching during your time in school. It is expected to fall within the bracket of GBP95-GBP130 per day, based on a 6.5 hour working day. To confirm also, this is a full time role to start from January 2020. The expectation is that the role will continue until July 2020.

How to apply:

To apply for this role, you must hold Qualified Teacher Status. You must also be experienced in KS2 and be prepared and committed to raising standards in the classroom. The school are keen to secure a teacher who will work collaboratively with the staff team and share the whole school ethos.
