Teaching Personnel are looking for a tutor to deliver cross-curricular subjects to a Year 6  Looked After Child who resides in a residential home in the Mansfield area of Nottinghamshire.

The student is male and in Year 6. He requires a tutor to implement core subjects and anything of particular interest for the purposes of engagement and relationship building.

He is working at below Age-Related Expectations and does not currently have a school place. Therefore, tuition will be required until a new school place has been found and it is likely that he will require support with the transition to his new school when the time comes.

He presents with Autism, ADHD, associated Global Developmental delay and is very sensory based, with an inters in numbers and counting

We are looking for a tutor to work with this student for 4 hours per day, 5 days per week. Initially we may require the tutor to begin with 2 hours but with a view to increasing this if the student engages.

The ideal candidate for this role will be:

  • A Teacher with experience teaching a Primary curriculum using innovative and creative teaching methods
  • Knowledgeable and experienced working with attachment disorder, ASC, ADHD and behaviours associated with children residing in care environments
  • Resilient and equipped to deal with verbal and physical aggression (however the residential home staff will be in the home and available to support at all times)
  • Confident to work closely with residential home staff and any other professionals involved in this case
  • Able to create and implement engaging, innovative lessons for a child who may be extremely disengaged 
  • Competent at providing weekly feedback reports to the Local Authority to monitor progress, behaviour and attendance
  • Able to complete daily attendance registers as part of the tutor expectations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
