Role: Maternity Cover - Welsh Speaking Teacher

Location: Cardiff

Hours: Full time (08.30 – 15.30)

Pay: £157.66 - £165 per day (paid weekly)

Start Date: April 8th

We are currently seeking a Welsh-Speaking Primary Teacher to join our team in Cardiff for a maternity cover role. This role starts after the Easter holiday period, but the school are looking to have interviews for the role starting from February 19th onwards.

As a Welsh-Speaking Primary Teacher, you will play a crucial role in nurturing the language skills and cultural awareness of young students. You’ll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on their educational journey while fostering a love for the Welsh language.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective primary education lessons in Welsh to students.
  • Develop age-appropriate lesson plans and teaching materials.
  • Assess and track students’ progress, providing feedback and support.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure students’ well-being and academic success.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance your teaching skills.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent primary teaching qualification.
  • Fluency in Welsh and proficiency in English.
  • Experience teaching in a primary school setting.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Passion for teaching and promoting the Welsh language and culture.
  • An enhanced DBS (registered on the update service).
  • Registered with the Welsh Education Workforce Council (EWC).
  • Provide successful teaching references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
