About the Role

Teaching Personnel is delighted to be partnering with a vibrant, inclusive school in Prescot, and we’re seeking dedicated PPA Cover Teachers to deliver high‑quality lessons across KS1 and KS2 during teachers’ Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time.

This is the perfect opportunity for educators who enjoy variety, want to teach across different year groups, and value a healthy work‑life balance. If you’re passionate about making a difference and thrive in supportive, well‑organised environments, this role allows you to teach what you love—without the full responsibilities of a class teacher.

About the School

  • Offers Nursery provision, supporting early years development.
  • Provides a breakfast club and after‑school care, supporting family-friendly provision.
  • Strong curriculum praised for a deep, logical learning sequence, exceptional reading culture, and high pupil achievement.
  • Excellent behaviour and attitudes—pupils are polite, considerate, and well supported.
  • Effective SEND provision ensuring pupils with additional needs access the same curriculum as their peers.
  • Strong safeguarding and pastoral systems contribute to a safe, nurturing school environment.

Your Role – What You Will Do

  • Deliver Inspiring Lessons: Teach pre‑planned lessons across KS1 and/or KS2 to provide PPA release for class teachers.
  • Maintain Continuity: Ensure a smooth learning experience by following school planning and adapting where appropriate.
  • Create a Positive Learning Environment: Foster a calm, inclusive and engaging atmosphere in every classroom you teach.
  • Collaborate Effectively: Communicate clearly with class teachers and leaders, offering constructive feedback following lessons.
  • Support Pupil Progress: Assess understanding during lessons and adapt delivery to meet the needs of all learners.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching in KS1 and/or KS2.
  • Strong communication, organisation and adaptability skills.
  • A flexible, proactive mindset suited to moving between classes.
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding and commitment to pupil wellbeing.

Why Choose Teaching Personnel?

  • Competitive weekly pay.
  • Access to bespoke, accredited CPD to support ongoing professional growth.
  • A dedicated Recruitment Consultant for consistent support when you need it.
  • The chance to work within a welcoming, supportive school community.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
