PMLD Learning Mentor – East London

Person Specification for PMLD Learning Mentor

The ideal candidate will be an inventive PMLD Learning Mentor who has an impressive academic record and a 2:1 or better in your degree and experience supporting SEN children. Ideally, the school need a PMLD Learning Mentor who can to show their genuine interest for supporting SEN pupils and inspire and motive pupils.

About the Role

In this PMLD Learning Mentor post you will be moving throughout the KS2 Years phase, adding much needed support on an ad hoc basis. As a PMLD/SEN Learning Mentor you will be working with individual pupils who may be falling behind or forging ahead academically. Part of your role as PMLD Learning Mentor will include overseeing activities in the playground, remaining attentive to any disruptions or potential problems.

The School

One of the advantages of this school is they place great emphasis on respecting each pupil’s individual achievements whilst providing a caring, creative and supportive learning environment for all their pupils. The pupils are aged between 4-11 and all present profound, complex or moderate and multiple learning difficulties, some of whom may also have an additional diagnosis of autism. All the pupils have a statement of special educational needs and benefit from small classes, no larger than eight.
