PMLD TA required in FE Department - Chorley

My client school in Chorley are seeking a TA with experience in supporting children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. The role will be based in the school's FE Department. Although the pupils are learning at a primary level, you must be confident supporting pupils aged 16-19.

The school caters for boys and girls with a range of SEN including Severe Learning Difficulties or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. A minority have extreme communication problems including Autism Spectrum Conditions and associated, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and speech and language needs.

The school are specifically looking for someone bright, engaging and proactive with a warming personality who can adapt quickly to the needs of their pupils and can fit in well with the staff in their department. You must be proactive and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude.

You MUST be willing to assist with personal care.

You MUST have experience in an SEN school or supporting children with SEN.

It is also likely you will be asked to assist in the school's hydrotherapy pool. Although you won't be expected to teach swimming (as the pupils use these sessions mainly for mobility purposes), you must be confident in the water and have the ability to swim.

The role will be 5 days per week, full-time, and you must be fully available for continuity purposes.
