PMLD Support Assistant – Leeds

Location: Leeds
Pay: £90 – £105 per day
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm

We are seeking a compassionate and patient PMLD Support Assistant to join a highly supportive and inclusive specialist provision in Leeds, working with pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with complex needs — helping them to learn, communicate, and thrive in a nurturing environment.

The Role:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with PMLD and complex medical needs.

  • Support with personal care, feeding, and moving & handling (training can be provided).

  • Assist with communication aids, sensory learning, and physiotherapy activities.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and medical staff to meet students’ individual needs.

  • Create a calm, safe, and engaging learning space where every achievement is celebrated.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a school, care, or health-based setting (e.g. SEN, complex needs, residential care).

  • Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

  • Moving & Handling and Personal Care training desirable.

  • Reliable, empathetic, and proactive approach.

  • Driving licence and transport preferred but not essential.
