PMLD Support Assistant – South Leeds (LS10)

Daily Rate: £90–£105/day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm

We are recruiting a dedicated PMLD Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in LS10 (South Leeds). This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and make a real difference to their learning and wellbeing.

The Role:

  • Support a small class group of pupils aged 4–19 with PMLD and complex medical/physical needs.

  • Assist with moving & handling, including hoisting and safe positioning (training provided if required).

  • Provide personal care, including toileting, feeding, and changing.

  • Help deliver sensory-based activities, life skills sessions, and therapeutic interventions.

  • Use communication strategies such as Makaton, PECS, and eye-gaze technology to engage pupils.

  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a nurturing and structured learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children or adults with PMLD or complex needs (school, care, or health setting).

  • A patient, caring, and reliable approach.

  • Willingness to complete Moving & Handling training (essential).

  • Comfortable supporting with personal care.

  • Enhanced DBS (child or child & adult workforce) on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.

  • Full-time availability – reliability is key.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
