Pastoral Support Role- Full Time- September 2025 start- Leamington Spa based Secondary School

Look no further, because Teaching Personnel are in collaboration with a beautiful secondary school based in the heart of Leamington Spa, a stunning town in Warwickshire.

The school boasts excellent academic results, a fantastic team of staff and state of the art facilities. 

 

The school are seeking to appoint an experienced and reliable individual who can work as part of their pastoral team as a pastoral support worker. They are ideally wanting applicants to have had previous experience within a similar role and have a vast understanding of SEMH and behavioural challenges.

 

Important Details:

Start Date: September 2025

Hours: Full time, term-time only (Mon-Fri)

Rate of Pay: £95-110 (per day, dependent upon experiences)

 

Ideal Person Specification:

- Relevant, recent experience working within a pastoral based role

- Previous youth work, mentoring or school based work is ideal

- Experienced supporting children and young people with SEMH issues and behavioural challenges 

- Knowledge and understanding of special educational needs

- Strong awareness of de-escalation techniques and necessary support for children with SEMH 

- Strong communication skills and an approachable nature

 

Roles/Responsibilites:

- Work in collaboration with the pastoral team within the school to support the most vulnerable students with their overall wellbeing and development

- Report and escalate any issues to the pastoral manager and/or SENCO

- Confidently assist in managing incidents and well-being interventions in line with the schools policies and procedures

- Be the point of contact for students who may be struggling with a variety of issues

- Develop trusting professional relationships with both pupils and staff within the school

- Liase with parents to promote the safety and positive wellbeing of each child

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
