Part time Teaching Assistant
Caerphilly
Hours: 09:00am-14:00pm.
Days: Monday to Friday (term time only).
Pay: £13 per hour.
Start date: September 2024 (we can offer local work leading up to summer in other schools).
Teaching Personnel are seeking Teaching Assistants to work within a lovely additional needs base within a secondary school in the Caerphilly area. The school are seeking caring and pro-active support assistants that have the initiative to work alone and as part of a team. This role entails classroom support with classes up to 15 pupils at a time with learning difficulties.
About the role:
- Part time hours 09:00am-14:00pm.
- Working within the special needs resource base.
- Assisting teachers with classroom support and interventions with pupils.
- Offering support to pupils aged 11-16 with additional needs including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Global Development delay, mental health and anxiety needs.

- Based in Caerphilly – mixed mainstream secondary school.
- Separate additional needs base.

- Supportive and inspiring teaching and senior leadership team.
- Seeking staff to work at the school on a long-term basis.
About you:
- School experience desirable or experience working with children or vulnerable adults.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- An understanding of special educational needs.
- Caring, patient and strong with communication skills.
- Able to deal with disruptive and challenging behaviour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
