Part time SEN teaching assistant - Makaton trained

Teaching Personnel are looking for a passionate teaching assistant to work within an advancing school, supporting the learning of SEN pupils through KS2. This is a part time role, working three days a week - working directly with numerous SEN pupils. Each pupil has a variety of needs, making the possible candidate's adaptability crucial. Direct experience supporting SEN pupils one to one is required alongside being Makaton trained.

The school based in Acton is fairly new, advancing and progressing in a variety of ways - including their Ofsted rating. Their school ethos is based around incorporating every student and embracing their ability, having a large SEN department they have aimed to scout for the best staff - contributing to the school in a variety of ways. Their adoption of numerous teaching assistants within their classes has shown great progression in ensuring the happiness of each student. By creating a safe and happy learning environment they can ensure students are receiving the best possible care and support.

The role:

The role is part time, looking for a member of staff to support a pupil with challenging behaviour and other pupils with a range of SEN requirements.

Ideal candidates:

• Experience working with SEN pupils, including supporting them one to one or within groups
• MUST BE Makaton trained
• At least 1 years experience within the classroom
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Sound knowledge of the national curriculum
• Personable, charismatic and able to work well in a team
• A valid DBS that is registered on the update service or willing to complete an application
• A proven track record of raising pupil attainment
