Outstanding Blackburn Primary School- Y4 Teacher role
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
If you are a Lancashire based teacher seeking work after the Easter holidays then there may be a perfect opportunity for you in a Blackburn School. The position I am currently looking to recruit for is located in a large Primary School in the heart of Blackburn. The school has a good reputation and holds an 'Outstanding' grading by Ofsted. The standards in school are particularly high and driven by the Head teacher who is keen to keep on improving. The children who attend the school arrive working below National Average and age related levels. They also tend to arrive from Asian heritage backgrounds and so the language and communication skills of the children tend to be a barrier to their learning initially. This is something the school are keen to work on especially in the younger year groups, however there are still children working in the Junior classes who require additional Phonics, Reading and Writing support. You will be expected to plan for this
The role will be to work full time in a Year 4 class from Easter to Summer. The expectation is that the Head teacher may ask the successful candidate to stay on further, possibly until October half term. This is a perfect opportunity for any aspiring teacher who is looking to impact on learning and improve standards in a Year 4 class on a temporary basis. The reason for the cover is sensitive to the school but initially the reason is due to long term sickness.
In order to apply you will need to hold Qualified Teacher Status and have a repertoire of experience working in the lower Junior classes. The school have specified that the will be open to Newly Qualified Teachers as well as more experienced practitioners to work in the Year 4 class. This is an excellent school with a superb reputation in the Blackburn area; do not miss the opportunity to find out more information and take up this role. If you would like further information on this post then do not hesitate to contact me in the office on 01772 842154
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
