Outreach Tutors required - Manchester - immediate start

Job description

Manchester LEA are currently seeking to appoint an out-reach Tutors to start after October 2018 half term. I am ideally seeking Tutors who can travel to various locations in and around the Manchester area working on a 1:1 basis with pupils who are being educated outside of Mainstream Education.

The pupils who require tuition may be being educated outside of Mainstream for a variety of reasons. These reasons may include: Special Needs (SEN), exclusion and extreme challenging behaviour, teenage pregnancy and LAC pupils. Due to the nature of the needs of these pupils Tutors will ideally need experience working with pupils of this nature. Please be aware that the pupils you are working with are often identified as very vulnerable young people, so to be considered for the role you will need to have strong interpersonal skills.

- The ability to build effective working relationships with pupils and parents and carers

- A commitment to supporting all pupils in reaching their full potential

- A knowledge of how to deliver sessions in Maths and English (up to GCSE)

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
