Teaching Personnel are seeking an inspiring and committed individual looking for a rewarding role working as an SEN teaching assistant in an SEN school in the Milton Keynes area.

You will be working at a specialist school that caters for pupils with a range of additional needs including severe behaviour emotional and social difficulties (BESD), now known as social emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH), as their primary need.

Due to the nature of the role we are looking for a patient, caring, individual who has a passion for helping students reach their full potential. The role is specifically dealing with secondary aged students who have low confidence and need to overcome barriers and be nurtured into becoming functioning citizens and learners.

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Positive attitude and an ability to work well as part of a team, both in class and at whole school level
  • Willingness to contribute to whole school development
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Resilient and reflective

No qualifications are necessary, though if you have previous experience or feel confident in at least 3 of the following then don't hesitate to get in touch…

  • Youth/Community work experience
  • Youth Offending Service experience
  • Support/Care Work
  • Special Education Needs Experience (either within a work or a personal environment)
  • Experience in assisting people with social, emotional and mental health issues (either within a work or a personal environment)
  • Sports coaching, qualifications or experience
  • Mentoring/Tutoring
  • Teaching/Learning Support Assistance
  • Challenging behaviour outside of a school environment
  • Outgoing personality
  • Proactive
  • Degree in Psychology or education
