Nurture Support Worker

Our school are looking for a patient and professional support worker to work within their challenging nurture base, caring for students with with complex learning and medical disability.
The School
The school supports up to 150 students with complex needs and disability such as sensory impairment, physical disability, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Social/ Emotional/ Mental Health and medical needs.
The school boasts brilliant new facilities which include a Hydro pool and fantastic soft play and sensory facilities for the students to explore and develop in.
The Role
As a support worker, you will be required to work within the nurture base of the school which cares for the students with challenging behaviours and autism spectrum disorder. Your main role would be to ensure the pupils safety at all times, helping them to remain calm and engaged in activity where possible.
You are likely tro encounter challenging and physical behaviour, therefore you must ensure that you are personally resilient in dealing with this type of behaviour. Knowledge of de-escalation and intervention techniques would be ideal however Team-Teach training can be provided through Teaching Personnel's CPD Academy.
The role is available 8.30am-3.30pm Monday to Friday on an initial short term contract, which has high potential to be extended or become permanent for a candidate which exceeds expectations.
You
Ideally you will be a caring and patient person, able to give nurturing care to the students even when at their most challenging. You should be resilient and professional to ensure that the students, staff and yourself are safe and well at all times.
You must have experience supporting Special Needs in some capacity, and preferably experience working with children.
Prior de-escalation training would be preferable.
