Nursery Teaching Assistant

Teaching personnel are actively seeking a high quality primary teaching assistant to join an extremely successful Catholic primary school in the West end of Newcastle. This Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' school has enjoyed huge success and would like to continue this by hiring a talented and experienced Early Years SEN assistant to work with their Nursery class. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teaching assistant to change the lives of young learners within the west end of Newcastle and to work within a supportive, caring Catholic school environment where staff welfare is a key focus. This is a full time role within the school.

This role will include:

  • Guaranteed work every week within the same class and teaching team
  • Working within a Nursery class throughout the year
  • Providing a mixture of SEN support to new pupils who struggle to transition
  • A mixture of work focusing on individual, small group and whole class interaction
  • Assisting with the development of children on a social, emotional and intellectual level
  • Provide support for all children throughout the school where necessary
  • Communicate with the class teachers and SENCO to create specific strategies to help individual students
  • Help to create a positive, supportive learning environment for the children
  • Demonstrating the Catholic ethos of the school through your actions

Candidate Requirements:

Due to the nature of the school, the successful candidate will most definitely have experience working within primary schools. Experience working as a teaching assistant within the Key Stage One Alongside this, the candidate should:

  • Highly motivated to help every pupil achieve their full potential
  • Willing to develop unique strategies for individual pupils
  • Passionate about the care and development of every child
  • Experience working within primary schools assisting teachers
  • Sound knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
  • Willing to help contribute to the wider school environment
