Nursery Practitioner
Location: Gloucester (GL1/GL2)
Contract: Part-Time or Full-Time
Pay: £14.30 – £16.15 per hour
About the Role
Teaching Personnel is searching for passionate and empathetic Nursery Practitioners to join a welcoming nursery in Gloucester. You will be supporting children aged 0–5, creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where they can learn and grow through play.
Whether you are at the beginning of your childcare career or already qualified, we encourage you to apply - especially if you have experience with play‑based learning, sensory play, outdoor exploration or child‑led learning approaches.
Your Responsibilities May Include (but are not limited to):
- Facilitating engaging, sensory and play‑based activities that meet children’s developmental needs
- Supporting children’s play, learning and emotional development throughout the day
- Assisting with daily routines, mealtimes, toileting and general care
- Creating stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with children and families
- Working collaboratively as part of a supportive nursery team
- Contributing to observations, assessments and planning
What We Are Looking For:
- A positive, caring individual with a genuine passion for Early Years education
- Experience supporting young children (0–5) in nurseries, preschools, nannying, playwork, youth clubs, or family care
- Experience or interest in sensory play, messy play, circle time activities, early communication and exploratory learning
- Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification is desirable but not essential
- Strong communication skills, reliability and a team‑focused approach
- A willingness to learn, develop and grow within the Early Years sector

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
