About the Role

We’re looking for a caring, patient and enthusiastic individual to join a warm and supportive Early Years team in Gloucester (GL2) as a Nursery Practitioner. 

This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping young children learn, play and grow during their most important developmental years. Formal childcare qualifications are desirable but not required - just a nurturing personality, a willingness to learn, and experience from environments such as childcare, nursery support, youth work, psychology or education studies, coaching, or other relevant child‑focused settings.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will:

  • Support young children aged 2–5 in both group and 1:1 settings
  • Assist in delivering engaging, play‑based learning activities
  • Help promote communication, social skills and early developmental milestones
  • Create a safe, fun and inclusive environment for all children
  • Build positive relationships with children, staff and families
  • Support routines including snack time, outdoor play and creative sessions
  • Encourage independence, curiosity and confidence in each learner

What We’re Looking For

No formal qualifications are required.
We are looking for individuals who have:

  • A nurturing, patient and positive approach
  • Experience in childcare, youth support, psychology or education studies, coaching or similar roles
  • A genuine passion for supporting young children’s early development
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • The ability to stay calm and supportive in busy environments
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Reliability and a team‑focused approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
