What options do I have as an NQT working as a supply teacher?

Can I complete my induction year working as a Supply Teacher?

Yes. Providing you complete up to a term in a temporary contract, this can count towards your NQT induction year sign off. You can complete your NQT induction year in 3 different schools which isn’t a bad route to take. It shows any future employers that you are adaptable and will have gained valuable experience.

Is there opportunity of securing a permanent role through Teaching Personnel?

Yes. We provide our schools with a permanent recruitment service in addition to supply. You will hear of the latest opportunities and if permanent is what you are looking for, we will actively work on your behalf using our network of school contacts to discuss you skills and experience and secure you interviews. We will even help prepare you for any interviews with access to our bespoke interview and trial preparation guide.

How much will I be paid?

• As an NQT working as an adhoc supply teacher, you can expect to achieve between GBP90-GBP110 per day. This rate will increase if planning and marking is involoved. You are not required to prepare lessons in this scenario, simply arrive at the school by 8.15am (unless instructed otherwise), cover lessons as directed by the Cover Manager and then you are free to leave at the end of the day
• As an NQT working in temporary contract, you can expect to achieve up to GBP124.99 per day. You should expect full NQT responsibility; planning, assessing and contributing to the wider school community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
