SEN Learning Support Assistant required near Colchester

Teaching Personnel are seeking to appoint an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to work with children who have special educational needs at a school near Colchester.

The school caters for a range of SEN including ASC and MLD/SLD

The successful applicant will:

•Have experience in supporting pupils with learning difficulties as well as other needs such as Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues and Autism Spectrum Disorder'

•Be enthusiastic, confident and able to show initiative as well as being creative.

•Be caring and patient

•Be able to work in partnership with SENCO, CT & external agencies

•Be competent in the use of ICT, have knowledge and experience of National Curriculum in a primary school

•Hold at least an A - C pass in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)

Aspects of the job role will include the following;

•Work under direct supervision by the class teachers and specialist teachers and be expected to use their own initiative to organise activities and tasks

•Use initiative and contribute to creating a stimulating and purposeful learning environment.

•Work in partnership with other teaching assistants

•Encourage independence and promote self-confidence

•Support the class teacher in planning differentiated work for pupil

•Create simple resources to support the pupil's work, as appropriate

•Attend INSET days and training as identified by the Head teacher

•Be involved in the planning process
