Maths Tutor – Alternative Provision (GCSE Focus)

Location: Across Newcastle upon Tyne | Rate: Up to £35/hr | Part-time

We are seeking passionate and experienced Maths tutors to support secondary-aged pupils in alternative provision, care settings, or those at risk of exclusion. Learners often face barriers to education and require tailored support to bridge gaps and work toward their GCSEs.

Tutoring takes place face-to-face in the pupil’s home, care home, school or community venue.

✅ What We’re Looking For:

• Teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, Level 5 or equivalent)

• Enhanced DBS (child workforce) or willingness to obtain one

• Significant experience working with SEMH and SEN pupils

• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with vulnerable learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
