I am looking for a Maths Teacher to support students in KS2 - KS4 with ASC, Complex Needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties ASAP!

The role is start from September and the school are looking for someone on a permanent basis.

At the school, the pupils study the curriculum in small class groups supported with differentiated activities and a wide variety of resources to help engage them.

The Maths department is committed to raising the standards of numeracy of all of students and developing transferable skills that give students the confidence and ability to use numeracy to support their learning in all areas of the curriculum and to acquire the skills necessary to help achieve success in further education, employment and adult life. Pupils work towards a combination of qualifications including GCSE Maths in Year 11 and Functional Skills, at appropriate levels for them.

The school ranges in age from 9-16 therefore the Head Teacher will consider candidates from Primary and Secondary environments. Class sizes are small, between 5-8 pupils but the school is growing in numbers, steadily.

The school caters for pupils with special needs including Social, Emotional, Mental Health, Behavioural Difficulties, ASC, ADHD and aims to provide them access to an environment that is tailored to meet all their identified needs. The school offers a change from mainstream education, challenges their expectations and finds ways to inspire success in preparation for working life.

The Head Teacher is interested in candidates who have worked in a PRU / Alternative Provision and would consider those from a mainstream environment, provided they have strong behaviour management and experience working with vulnerable students. You MUST have the skill set and knowledge to handle challenging behaviour appropriately and the understanding of pupils who have mental health difficulties. The pupils require nurture, care and guidance and you must be 'thick-skinned,' energetic, empathetic, non-judgemental with a can-do attitude.

If you think you have what it takes and would love the opportunity to showcase yourself, with the view of securing yourself an exciting opportunity in this thriving environment, please send a copy of your CV ASAP as the school would like to have an idea as to who is interested in ASAP!

Please call me on 01772 842155 if interested!

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
