Full-time Maths teacher required from September 2019 for a reputable secondary school in Bury for twelve months initially.

Teaching Personnel are working in collaboration with an Ofsted rated 'Good' secondary school to recruit a skilled Maths teacher to teach Maths throughout the school from KS3 to GCSE level, from September 2019.

  • Full-time Maths teacher required - fixed term from September 2019.
  • Must hold QTS alongside subject specific degree level qualification within Maths.
  • Both experienced and newly qualified Maths teachers are welcome to apply as relevant support will be provided.
  • Opportunity to work in an Ofsted graded 'Good' secondary school.
  • Access to CPD training programmes which include; 'Effective Behaviour Management', 'SEN Carousel' and 'Progress 8 Scores' Etc.
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS £23,720 - £39,406 per annum.

The incoming Maths teacher can expect to join a dynamic faculty of four staff members including the Director of Mathematics. In previous years, the school has continues to see an upward trend within Mathematics as pupils continue to exceed beyond their potentials against national averages. With over 90 % of GCSE pupils achieving above expected the school has been noted for its outstanding practice of teaching and learning.

The responsibilities for the successful Maths teacher will include;

  • To ensure all individual lessons are planned and prepared adequately including the appropriate use of relevant resources.
  • Adopt a forward thinking approach and plan lessons in line with schemes of work well in advance, in accordance with the national curriculum and departmental/school policies
  • Regularly set and mark appropriate work for pupils in order to assess their progression and understanding.

"Students' progress is measured rigorously, evidence of underachievement is identified quickly and effective support is provided. Teachers and support workers are appointed with great care; they are considered to be the most important resource the school has and are very well supported."

This over-subscribed secondary school is based in Bury and has just over 800 pupils on roll aged 11-16. There are easy access options via the M60/M66 as well as the surrounding areas; Bolton, Rochdale, and Preston.
