Teacher of Maths for January 2018

The School is seeking to appoint a skilled and inspirational Teacher of Maths who forms effective relationships with students, parents and colleagues and has the skills and drive to ensure our students receive the best possible learning opportunities.

The school are extremely ambitious for their 820 students and have a strong vision to ensure that the life-chances of every young person are enhanced by quality teaching, leading to excellent outcomes. Examination results have significantly improved; 61% A*-C, LoP exceed national.

The school have placed Numeracy and Literacy at the heart of their curriculum and are committed to investing in those areas. All students receive four hours of Maths teaching per week in KS4 and seven hours a fortnight at KS3. Their new and innovative KS3 curriculum that they are currently delivering sees numeracy embedded in all subjects that students undertake. The school are developing exciting programmes that enhance students' opportunities to study maths and they offer adult and family learning opportunities through our community provision.

As a teacher of Maths at this school, they would invest in you to ensure that you develop the skills and expertise needed to ensure those that you teach acquire numeracy skills vital to their future. All classrooms in the Maths department are based together and are were recently refurbished and enhanced. All teachers teach in their own room, equipped with projector and screen, and every teacher receives a laptop. They offer all members of staff a full induction programme and significant opportunities to develop their expertise. Colleagues at the school work together to support each other and they have an active wellbeing committee.
