Full time Maths Teacher required from September 2019 for 12 month temporary position for a Walkden based Secondary school.

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a Secondary School in Walkden who are hoping to recruit a dynamic Maths teacher to join their friendly staff team and help improve their students' attainment. If you are a qualified Maths Teacher seeking an exciting new opportunity within a Secondary school please see the details below;

  • Full-time Maths Teacher required from September 2019.
  • Opportunity for valuable experience in a challenging school and working with behavioural difficulties
  • Experience with challenging behaviour is desirable
  • Applications are urged from experienced KS3/4 Maths teachers
  • Access to strong behaviour management support to aid understanding of challenging behaviour
  • Pay in line with scale point NQT-UPS (£23720-£39400)

Our client school has been noted for their welcoming staff community and culture over the last few years with strong support to provide staff with the most efficient teaching methods. The incoming Maths teacher can expect to work with some challenging behaviour alongside pupils in need of extra support to increase their attainment.

The successful Math teacher will be expected to;

  • Support with the development of Schemes of Work in line with the National Curriculum for Maths.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver differentiated maths lessons to meet the needs of individual learners at various levels of learning.
  • Guide pupils with challenging behaviour and implement strategies to help manage this behaviour
  • Assess and evaluate class work reporting back to Senior Teachers in order to take appropriate action to support pupils in meeting their aims and objectives.
  • Promote positive behaviour management skills amongst pupils and manage behaviour in line with school behaviour policies.

Located in the Walkden region of Salford, this mixed comprehensive school has just over 850 pupils on roll, aged 11-16. The school is easily accessible via the M61/A580 (East Lancashire Road) and the surrounding areas; Bury, Bolton and Trafford. For non-drivers, there are also various public transport options available with links across Greater Manchester.
