Job description

Maths Teacher – Manchester – September Start

We’re looking for a qualified Maths Teacher to join one of our partner secondary schools in Manchester this September. This is a full-time position running until at least July 2026, with the potential for a permanent contract.

The school is located just outside the city centre, well-connected by public transport, and has undergone recent investment in its STEM facilities. With a clear emphasis on academic success, the school also prioritises wellbeing, collaboration, and professional development.

The Maths department is made up of experienced and early-career teachers who share schemes of work and offer mentoring and planning support. You'll teach a mix of Key Stage 3 and 4 classes, including some intervention groups, with the chance to deliver GCSE Higher or Foundation tier depending on experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum

  • Developing student confidence through structured and scaffolded tasks

  • Tracking progress using data and adapting lessons accordingly

  • Participating in departmental reviews, CPD, and open evenings

  • Supporting pupils with barriers to learning through inclusive practices

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold QTS or equivalent and a Maths or STEM-related degree

  • Have a proven record of strong classroom teaching or good potential as an ECT

  • Be confident working independently and as part of a department team

  • Bring a positive, solution-focused approach to school life

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
