Maths Teacher

Mathematics Specialists required to deliver intervention in alternative behaviour settings

• Qualified Teachers or Mathematics Graduates
• Ability to plan and deliver sessions designed to re engage disaffected young people
• Commitment to raising attainment

Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint several Maths Specialists to provide targeted intervention to pupils in alternative behaviour settings and Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) in the West Yorkshire area. You will be required to work across several school sites on a full or half-day basis, from one to five days each week for at least half a term. You will have a commitment to raising attainment and be able to re-engage pupils with challenging behaviour. Alongside providing specific and individualised Maths coaching and intervention, you will also be able to meet the social, emotional and mental health needs of young people.

On arrival at the school(s) you should be provided with a schedule detailing which pupils are attending and at what times. Finally, at the end of each day you will discuss specific pupil progress with the class teachers. The role is suitable for graduates of Maths, or other related subjects perhaps looking to go into teaching in the future, or even qualified teachers of Maths looking to take a step back from full class teaching whilst still having the opportunity to use your subject knowledge and expertise.

You must have strong subject knowledge in Mathematics (equivalent of undergraduate degree or higher) and experience of working with young people (both within and/or outside of schools)
