Teaching Personnel is working with a vibrant and forward-thinking SEN School committed to providing exceptional learning experiences for its pupils. Situated in Bournemouth, Dorset, the school prides itself on fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where both students and staff thrive.

 

Position Overview:

Teaching Personnel, on behalf of the school is seeking a passionate and dedicated KS4 Maths Teacher to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality education and inspiring students to achieve their full potential in Mathematics. The school caters to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The ideal candidate will have experience and expertise in supporting students with these additional needs but is not essential.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of Key Stage 4 students, including those with SEMH needs and ASC.

Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to facilitate active learning and promote understanding of mathematical concepts, adapting approaches to meet the individual needs of students.

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, supported, and motivated to participate and succeed.

Implement effective behaviour management strategies and provide pastoral support to students, working closely with the school's SENCO and other support staff to ensure the well-being and academic progress of students with SEMH needs and ASC.

Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing tailored support and intervention to address specific learning needs and promote positive outcomes for all students.

Collaborate with colleagues, including teaching assistants and external agencies, to develop and implement personalized learning plans and support strategies for students with SEMH needs and ASC.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to student learning and achievement, including regular updates on progress and strategies for support.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

Specialism in Mathematics with a strong understanding of the KS4 curriculum.

Proven experience teaching Mathematics, with a track record of achieving positive outcomes for students, including those with SEMH needs and ASC.

Experience or training in supporting students with SEMH needs and ASC, including knowledge of relevant strategies and interventions is desirable but not essential (Full training will be provided).

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Ability to inspire and motivate students to excel in Mathematics and develop a passion for the subject, while also providing sensitive and effective support to students with additional needs.

Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to engage in continuous improvement.
